“my feedback from the slopes can help”
While visiting our HQ this Wednesday, Dario Cologna shared with Edgar Faller, Head of Performance Category, and the product team his feedback on clothes and gear for the next Olympics. We seized this great opportunity to ask him a few questions.
- How do you work with the Odlo Team to have the best gear on the slopes and in Korea?
Our discussions and collaboration are very important, and it has been working for nearly 8 years. Performance clothing is very functional and actually empowers you. It helps me get faster on the slopes.
- And are you ready for the Olympics?
It is working well so far, as we already worked with the Odlo guys for the Olympic games in Sochi (Dario won two gold medals in Russia). They always ask for my opinion. We are all specialists. The Odlo team comprises specialists in product development and in design and I am a specialist in my discipline. And my feedback from the slopes can help them to adjust or add features if needed.
- A Switzerland-based company for a Swiss champion. Odlo moved to Switzerland in 1986, the year you were born. Made in Switzerland…
Switzerland has a good reputation and clear advantage when it comes to product quality. Also, our long-term partnership is a bit of a Swiss thing, too. We trust each other and know each other better. And I hope that we will still work together a few more years down the road.
- In 2018, the Engadin Ski Marathon celebrates its 50-year anniversary. Will you be there?
For me, Engadin is a very special race. First, it takes place at home, and it also was my first win ever, back in 2007. But the Worldcup is a priority, and unfortunately Holmenkollen takes place on the same weekend. So if I am not qualified for Oslo, you will definitely find me in Engadin…
