This weekend was an outstanding two days for the Scott Odlo team. Both Jenny Rissveds and Nino Schurter rode their way to victory for the second time this month. Jenny won her first elite World Cup race. Nino added to his incredible record, winning the 20th World Cup of his career.
After her performance last weekend, Jenny was able to maintain her focus and thrive off her winning streak by leading out of the start line with composure and determination. The Swedish Champion held her own, even when the World Champion Anika Langvad momentarily took over the pace of the race. Rissveds did not let this deter her and she continued to push herself, closing the gap between her rivals and backing herself fully to the finish line. The 22 year old stood on the 1st place podium with Anika Langvad in 2nd position and Jolanda Neff in 3rd.
Despite a rocky start Nino Schurter achieved his 20th World Cup victory. He maintained a leading position alongside Jaroslav Kulhavy and was able to keep a steady pace, remaining focused on his technique and speed. Olympic Champion Kulhavy suffered from a flat tyre, taking him out of the race and leaving Nino to step up his game and up the tempo. In the end, his speed and agility out mastered his competitors, winning with a 27 second lead over Julien Absalon who achieved 2nd place, ahead of Maxime Marotte who gained 3rd place.
In addition, Andri Frischkneckt put on a solid show as he ended up completing the U23 race in 6th place close behind Georg Egger in 5th. The race was Andri’s best performance this season as he came into his own and sprinted his way to the finish line.
