2nd place for Selina Gasparin, 23.01.2016
After a one year maternity break for Selina Gasparin she is now totally back on track. On Saturday, Selina ended her pursuit behind the Russian girl Jekaterina Jurlowa with a second place finish. That was a fantastic success for the Swiss biathlete. As she said herself, Selina was probably the most surprised athlete at the World Cup in Antholz: "My goal was top 10 or 15. A lot is possible in biathlon, but I never expected second place. This podium is more than I expected after a year of break."
Signs of life from the Swiss team in the Men's Relay on Sunday, 24.01.2016
This weekend, the men's team showed great performance at the Men's Relay in Antholz. With the 9th placed finish they reached the top ten and ensured their qualification for the World Championships in Oslo! Congratulations!
Serafin Wiestner and a very strong Benjamin Weger brought the quartet up to the 3rd place and, after the shooting in prone position, Jeremy Finello even managed to push the team into second. Unfortunately, in the second half of the race the team couldn't keep up the good position. But at the end, Mario Dolder leaded the Swiss Biathlon Team on to a great 9th placed finish . Well done!
