Jenny Rissveds gets the gold

Jenny won the race with a tactical and smart performance, despite the fact she had 9 stitches in her knee and elbow after a heavy crash last week. Jenny was in the leader group throughout the race, closely alongside Maya Wloszczowska (Poland) for the majority of the course. However, Jenny proved herself as the stronger athlete at the end of the race, bringing home the gold.

This is the first season for the 22-year-old in the elite category. A season where she has excelled herself and had already shown her talent by qualifying for the games representing Sweden and winning her first World Cup race in Lenzerheide earlier in the year. This gold medal now is the icing on the cake for Jenny, rounding off her season with a well-deserved medal.
