Berlin is a big, vibrant city with a green heart. It’s also a great city for running so we have selected two routes that we believe showcase the best Berlin has to offer runners.
The first (10km) provides an opportunity to explore the centre of this historic city – taking in a number of the main buildings and attractions, interwoven with the tranquil parkland of the famous Tiergarten.
Take in some of Berlin’s most famous sights and attractions with this vibrant 10km route. It starts in the pulsating heart of the city at the Straße des 17. Juni, overlooking the famous Brandenburg Gate. From here, with the Siegessäule at your back, you will be running through the Tiergarten enjoying one of Berlin’s most famous parks with its wonderful greenery, trees and lakes, having first made your way past the famous Reichstag building.
Passing through the park you hit the delightful banks of the River Spree and enter the government district, with its marble facades and official ambience. Feel your motivation rising as you follow the route through to the busy streets of Berlin’s creative Mitte, where there is inspirational art and a creative vibe everywhere. Just soak in the atmosphere and enjoy some of the most interesting views the capital can give you.
You’ll know you’ve completed a great running-workout when you get to the end of this 10 km run. You will also have taken in some of the greatest sites the city has to offer. And to finish? Why not relax in one of many famous cafés in Berlin Mitte - enjoy!
