In sport, success and failure are determined by the narrowest margins. A split second, a millimetre, or even a degree can be all that prevents a sportsperson from achieving a personal goal, or falling just short of the mark. Finding that extra one degree of performance is a neverending quest. It might involve one more day in the gym, an extra lap around the track, or a cooling garment that ensures an athlete has the best possible conditions to perform.
One degree can be the difference between a great day and a day to forget. People are always looking for something that gives them an edge and makes life easier. Odlo provides the solution to do just that: Ceramicool.
Watch Ceramicool in action as freerunner talent and Ninja Warrior UK finalist, Katie McDonnell, confronts a heat sensitive camera on the rooftops of London to accomplish her mission.
With its Ceramicool technology, Odlo guarantees top performance in the sultriest of conditions. Ceramicool is unique because it is an active cooling technology. Endurance tests carried out on dummies have demonstrated that it reduces skin temperature by up to 1°C. This cooling effect is achieved via three levels:
1. The ceramic particles in the yarn have the ability to release warmth quickly and thus transmit the excessive heat away from the skin.
2. The flat cross section structure creates tiny channels in the yarn for warm air streams to flow away.
3. The low bulk yarn is the basis for this light-weight material and creates ultimate breathability and ventilation.
These three factors combined keep you cool, even on the hottest days.

What are the main benefits of Ceramicool?
What is the difference of the materials on the different types of Ceramicool products?
Ceramicool Seamless is entirely fabricated out of the Ceramicool yarn. The name is in a sense self-explanatory as the Ceramicool Seamless consists out of a seam-free torso where the well-known Odlo bodymapping knowhow is integrated. The Ceramicool Pro and Ceramicool products also make use out of the cooling effect of the fabric whereat the material is specifically used in sensory sensitive areas of the body as the neck and the arm pits. The proportion of Ceramicool yarn is higher in Ceramicool Pro than Ceramicool.
How does the active cooling technology works?
The active cooling technology of Odlo works on three levels: First the ceramic particles in the yarn have the ability to release warmth quickly and thus transmit the excessive heat away from the skin. Second the flat cross section structure creates tiny channels in the yarn for warm air streams to flow away. Third the low bulk yarn is the basis for this light-weight material and creates ultimate breathability and ventilation.
Do we use "Effect by Odlo" on Ceramicool?
To guarantee less smell, “Effect by Odlo” is applied on our Ceramicool Seamless range as we use more than 50% of PES in the fabric.
On our Ceramicool Pro and Ceramicool ranges, which are cut and sew products, we do not need to add “Effect by Odlo” finish as they are mainly made from Polyamide fabric, not PES, and Polyamide does not cause smell.
